2025 All-BAEL Team

AJ Weimer | 2026 | C | Calgary Cubs | Uncommitted

It was evident when we first saw Weimer at the BAEL Pre-season Camp that he would have an impact for the Cubs. The athletic catcher finished the year with a .373/.514/.520 slash line, was tied for 1st in the BAEL in triples (6) and runs (43), and ranked 6th in OPS with a 1.034. His impact didn’t stop there, utilizing his athleticism behind the dish. He also controlled the running game well, as his 75 mph arm and 1.98 POP time from the Pre-season Camp translated well in game. At 6-foot-0, 160-pounds, Weimer consistently puts the ball in play and uses the entire field. There’s feel for the barrel and he runs the bases well, making him an effective bat at the top of the order for the Cubs. After an offseason of development, the uncommitted 2026 should return as one of the top overall players in the BAEL next year.

Ethan Savage | 2025 | 1B | Calgary Bucks | St. Cloud Technical & Community College

There are several reasons for the Calgary Bucks success this past season, and Ethan Savage was one of them. The standout first baseman in the BAEL finished with a slash line of .384/.466/.500, placing 4th in the league in average, 1st in hits (43), 3rd in RBIs (33), and 2nd in doubles (13). Despite all of those impressive numbers, what stands out the most with Savage is his ability to put the ball in play. In 133 plate appearances, he only struck out 5 times. His simple approach at the dish contributes to this, with a wide base and simple timing mechanism, he can easily get on time and drive the ball anywhere on the field. Although there isn’t too much impact in the bat currently, the 5-foot-9, 190-pound St. Cloud Technical & Community College commit will still have an impact at the next level with his ability to put the bat on the ball.

Kruise McGeough | 2027 | 2B | Red Deer Rangers | Uncommitted

McGeough was not only one of the top 2027s in the BAEL, he was also one of the top overall players in the BAEL. The Red Deer Rangers product finished the season with a slash line of .419/.505/.558. He finished 4th in OPS (1.063), 7th in OBP (.505), 6th in slugging (.558), and tied for 4th in triples with 4. He has shown advanced barrel control, using the entire field well and driving the ball with authority to both gaps. At 6-foot-1, 165-pounds, McGeough is a 7.2 runner and utilizes his speed well on the bases, collecting 12 stolen bases on the year. His 87 mph arm across the infield will give him a chance to move over to the left side of the infield longterm, where he played parts of this season. With the athleticism and upside in his frame, there is plenty to be excited about going forward with McGeough.

Carter Moffat | 2025 | 3B | St. Albert Cardinals | University of Fraser Valley

It goes without saying that Carter Moffat had one of the most dominant seasons in recent memory. The University of Fraser Valley commit finished the year with an impressive slash line of .432/.578/.716. He finished 1st in average, OBP, slugging, and HRs (5), tied for 1st in Runs (43), 4th in hits (41), tied for 7th in triples (3), and 9th in RBIs with 28. His bat is not only one of the most impactful in the BAEL, but he also has a great sense of the strike zone, walking 30 times and striking out looking just 3 times in 145 plate appearances. While he predominantly worked to his pull side, 3 of his 5 homeruns were to his backside showing that he can do damage to all fields. As a 7.0 runner, Moffat is a strong baserunner and moves well laterally on the infield. Strong defensively at 3B, he also had reps at SS and 2B. At 5-foot-10, 200-pounds, the frame is physical and he should have no problem making an immediate impact at the collegiate level.

Bo Anderson | 2027 | SS | Calgary Bucks | Uncommitted

Anderson, who was a member of Team Alberta at the Western Canadian Prospects Series in 2024, was a standout during his first season in the BAEL. Even with a slash line of .339/.394/.492 and finishing 1st in doubles (14), tied for 2nd in hits (42), and tied for 7th in RBIs with 29, the most impressive aspect of his game is his defense and upside. Standing at 6-foot-4, 180-pounds, there is plenty of projectability, with room to add strength and improve in every aspect of his game. At a premium defensive position, the Calgary Bucks product has already shown he can handle it, despite only just starting his junior season. He has range on the infield, moving well laterally, and has advanced instincts which allow him to put himself in a good position to field the ball cleanly. Improvements will continue to come on both sides of the ball as he grows into his frame. The All-BAEL SS is one of the most intriguing 2027s in the province and will be an exciting follow for the next couple of years.

Braedyn Vogstad | 2025 | OF | Parkland Twins | Uncommitted

Braedyn Vogstad has been a well known name within the province for the last couple years. The two-way player was effective on both sides of the ball this season, but primarily at the dish slashing .383/.558/.617. He finished 2nd in OPS (1.175), 3rd in slugging, 3rd in OBP, 5th in average, and tied for 7th in triples with 3. There’s a strong sense of the strike zone as well, walking 28 times in 106 plate appearances. His athleticism is evident all over the field, running a 7.1 with twitch at the plate. He’s strong defensively in CF with a 93 mph arm from the OF. On the mound he finished the BAEL regular season with 49 strikeouts in 39.2 innings and ran his fastball up to 89 mph, sitting 86-88 regularly. Vogstad, who was a member of Team Alberta at the 2023 Canada Cup, was a standout during his final year in the BAEL earning himself a spot on the All-BAEL team.

Hudson Harding | 2026 | OF | Webber Wildcats | Uncommitted

During the 2024 BAEL season, the 6-foot-0, 175-pound outfielder slashed .402/.485/.646. He finished 2nd in slugging, 3rd in average, 3rd in OPS (1.131), tied for 4th in triples (4) and HRs (2), and tied for 7th in RBIs with 29. His bat was one of the most impactful in the league and often came through in big moments, with 15 2-out RBIs over the course of the season. There’s always intent to do damage at the plate, but he manages to maintain a balanced approach using the entire field. Despite the intent to do damage and the use of a high leg kick to get on-time, Harding struck out just twice in 99 plate appearances during the season, showing his ability to find the barrel. His 85 mph arm also makes him an effective corner outfielder on the defensive side of the ball. Heading into his final season, Hudson Harding will be one of the top uncommitted seniors in the province.

Matthew Schneider | 2025 | OF | St. Albert Cardinals | Edmonton Collegiate

The Edmonton Collegiate commit was one of the top two-way players in the BAEL, with his biggest impact coming at the plate. Schneider slashed .375/.472/.567, finishing 1st in RBIs (38), 3rd in triples (5), 4th in slugging, 5th in OPS (1.039), tied for 6th in hits (39), and 7th in average. The 6-foot-1, 180-pound outfielder uses the entire field better than most, using a toe tap timing mechanism and being short through the zone to get on time and drive the ball. There’s feel for the barrel as well, with just 2 strikeouts swinging in 125 plate appearances, and 9 in total. His athleticism can be seen on the bases and in the outfield as well, with strong baserunning and defensive play. Schneider was a major contributor for the Provincial Champion St. Albert Cardinals and will look to continue that impact in CCBC.

Declan Wurz | 2026 | UTL | Calgary Bucks | Uncommitted

Wurz is an uncommitted 2026 with plenty of upside. At 6-foot-5, 205-pounds there is plenty to dream on with his frame. The Calgary Bucks product completed the 2024 season with a .345/.491/.483 slash line, finishing 2nd in runs (41), 5th in doubles (10) and tied for 9th in OPS (.974). Wurz, a 6.9 runner, is one of the more versatile and athletic players in the BAEL. He’s strong defensively, both on the infield and in the outfield, and possesses a mid-80s arm in both positions. With a 16% walk rate, there’s plenty of feel for the strike zone that will continue to be a factor as he adds strength to his frame. Already having the ability to use the entire field, that added strength will turn him into more of an impact bat and display the kind of upside Wurz genuinely has. When the 2026 season gets underway, keep an eye on Wurz to be one of the top position players in the BAEL.

Ronan Johnson | 2027 | RHP | Parkland Twins | Uncommitted

Johnson was not only one of the best 2027s in the BAEL, but one of the best overall players in the BAEL. Among qualified pitchers, he was second in ERA (2.06), 5th in WHIP (1.24), and 7th in BAA (.259). At 6-foot-0, 160-pounds there’s plenty to like with Johnson: An easy mover on the mound who fills the strike zone with 4 pitches and has advanced pitchability. In 51 innings pitched he walked just 11 batters, threw 65% strikes, 61% first pitch strikes, and walked just 2.2% of batters he threw a first pitch strike to. He’s been up to 82 mph with the fastball, and generally sits in the 78-80 mph range, mixing in a curveball, slider, and changeup as well. Johnson is more of a pitch-to-contact type arm right now with 32 strikeouts in 51 innings pitched, however, added strength will go a long way in upping his velocity and improving the effectiveness of his secondary pitches. The Parkland Twins product will be an exciting follow for the next couple years.

Tighe Haughton | 2026 | RHP | Webber Wildcats | Uncommitted

There’s a lot of upside with Haughton, and he showed plenty of it during the 2024 season. Among qualified pitchers, he finished 3rd in strikeouts (65), 4th in BAA (.238), and 5th in ERA (2.78). At 6-foot-5, 190-pounds there’s plenty to like in regards to his frame, with room to fill out. He works out of a high arm slot, generating carry up in the zone with his fastball that induced a ton of swing and miss all season. He tunnels his curveball well off of it that is effective when located down in the zone. With a high waist and longer legs, Haughton uses it to his advantage to get extension down the mound, creating deception and making at-bats uncomfortable for the hitter. The fastball has been up to 86 mph, but generally sits in the 82-84 mph range. While control has been an issue at times for the Webber Wildcats product, his repertoire and high ceiling leave plenty to look forward to as he continues to develop. The uncommitted senior is an arm college coaches should be keeping an eye on.

Nicholas Klemmer | 2025 | LHP | St. Albert Cardinals | Edmonton Collegiate

Nicholas Klemmer has been one of the most dominant arms in the BAEL for the last couple of years. Among qualified pitchers, the 2024 Pitcher of the Year finished the 2025 season 1st in innings pitched (69.1), ERA (1.72), WHIP (1.07), and BAA (.219). With Klemmer, it’s his pitchability that stands out. He commands 3 pitches for strikes, walking just 13 in 69.1 innings pitched. The St. Albert Cardinals product also had a 67% strike percentage and a 65% first pitch strike percentage. Of those first pitch strikes, only 1.4% of those at-bats finished with a walk. The fastball sits in the mid-70s but he mixes very well keeping hitters off balance and avoiding hard contact, not giving up a homerun and producing a 76% weak contact rate. At 5-foot-10, 150-pounds, the Edmonton Collegiate commit will look to take that next step with added strength and velocity as he enters the college ranks.

Tyler Anquist | 2026 | RHP | Sherwood Park Dukes | Uncommitted

Anquist was without a doubt one of the most underrated players in the BAEL this past season. Among qualified pitchers, the Sherwood Park Dukes product finished 2nd in WHIP (1.10), 4th in ERA (2.78), and 5th in BAA (.241). The 5-foot-9, 150-pound right hander is an easy mover on the mound and controls 3 pitches for strikes. While he was successful all year, Anquist really turned it on in the second half of the season, walking just 5 batters in his last 31.2 innings pitched. He won’t overpower you with his stuff, but he mixes well keeping hitters off balance and inducing weak contact 77% of the time and a 40% ground ball rate. With the pitchability the uncommitted senior already possesses, his next step going forward will be adding strength and getting his velocity to the next level, increasing his effectiveness.

Braeden Bohach-Murray | 2026 | RHP | Calgary Bucks | Uncommitted

A big part of the Calgary Bucks success this past season was Bohach-Murray’s dominance and reliability on the mound. The uncommitted 2026 threw the 2nd most innings of anyone in the BAEL (61), and among qualified pitchers, finished 3rd in both ERA (2.64) and WHIP (1.23), as well as 8th in BAA (.260).  He did an effective job inducing weak contact, with a 75% weak contact rate, as well as keeping 52% of the balls in play on the ground. He threw a first pitch strike 65% of the time and walked just 11 batters in his 61 innings on the mound. The fastball sits comfortably in the 80-82 mph range with plenty more in the tank in his 5-foot-10, 195-pound frame. Bohach-Murray, who was a member of Team Alberta at the Western Canadian Prospect Series in 2024, has the athleticism to make strides in every aspect of his game and will be a player to watch in 2026 when the season kicks off.
