BAEL Players of the Week: April 26 & 27

After a long offseason of hard work and development, the 2025 season is finally upon us. The BAEL kicked off its season with 6 of its teams in action. Throughout those games we had many standout performances, here are 5 that made an impact for their respective team.

Hudson Harding | 2026 | OF/P | Webber Wildcats | Uncommitted

One of the more dominant performances of the weekend came from 2026 Hudson Harding. At 6-foot-0, 170-pounds, Harding possesses athleticism and present bat to ball, having not struck out in 15 plate appearances. He utilizes a strong lower half and a leg lift to create torque. Uses the entire field and has some power in the bat as well, pulling a HR down the right field line in game 1, and adding 2 more extra base hits throughout the weekend. With an 85 mph arm from the OF, there’s plenty to like in the Webber product. Harding has started his BAEL season off with 7 RBIs, slashing .500/.600/1.000, and will be a bat to follow as the season progresses.

Seth Clark | 2026 | CIF/P | Red Deer Rangers | Uncommitted

The uncommitted 2026 was impactful for Red Deer all weekend, particularly on the mound. He threw 5 hitless innings and struck out 5 in game 3 of their series against the Sherwood Park Dukes. He commanded the fastball well, landing a first pitch strike 88% of the time and was efficient throughout his outing, averaging 15 pitches per inning. The fastball got up to 81 mph in the cold Red Deer weather, but we have seen him up to 85 mph. The curveball generated some swing & miss when located down as well. The bat also made an impact, driving in 4 runs in just 8 plate appearances. At 6-foot-0, 230-pounds, Clark is a legitimate two-way threat.

Matthew Becher | 2026 | 1B | Sherwood Park Dukes | Uncommitted

Although it was a tough opening weekend for the Sherwood Park Dukes, you can’t say the same for Matthew Becher. The 5-foot-10, 165-pound first baseman had a major impact with the bat, collecting 5 hits, 2 of which were for extra bases, and drove in 6 of the teams 12 runs on the weekend. There’s some feel for the barrel and showed the ability to use the entire field. As the Dukes look to bounce back, Becher will also look to continue swinging a hot bat.

Riley Dusterhoft | 2027 | OF/RHP | St. Albert Cardinals | Uncommitted

Despite it being Dusterhoft’s first year in the BAEL, he made an immediate impact on opening weekend for the St. Albert Cardinals. There’s evident bat-to-ball in the left-handed bat, having not struck out in any of his 13 plate appearances. The 5-foot-10, 150-pound outfielder had 6 hits in 11 at-bats, including 2 that went for extra bases. He finished the weekend with a .545./.615/.818 slash line. There’s plenty to like with Dusterhoft and he will be a 2027 to keep on eye on going forward.

Rylan Ramsay | 2025 | OF/P | Red Deer Rangers | Prairie Baseball Academy

Ramsay was a standout at the Pre-season Calgary BAEL camp and he carried that momentum into the first weekend of the season. The Prairie Baseball Academy commits quality at-bats are what stands out. He drew 5 walks, had 5 hits, 2 of which went for extra bases, and only struck out once over 13 plate appearances. On top of that, he had 4 stolen bases and 7 runs. The 5-foot- 11, 165-pound Red Deer product has the ability to have an impact all over the field this coming summer.
