BAEL Players of the Week: July 19 & July 20
Bo Anderson | 2027 | SS | Calgary Bucks | Uncommitted
There’s plenty to like on both sides of the ball with Anderson. He finished the weekend 5 for 15 with a double, 4 runs, and an RBI bringing his slashline on the year to .315/.374/.441. Anderson’s 6-foot-3, 180-pound frame is what jumps out when you first see him. He moves well on the infield and will continue to get better as he grows into his frame and adds strength. There’s carry on his throws and added arm strength will allow him to stay at the position long term. Anderson, who was a member of Team Alberta at the Western Canadian Prospect Series last fall, has a high ceiling and is a 2027 worth watching as he refines his game at the plate and on the infield.
Connor Murphy | 2026 | C/INF | Parkland Twins | Uncommitted
Coming off a tough stretch leading up to this weekend against the Dukes, Murphy broke out in a big way going 5 for 10, including a no-doubt home run to LF in game 1 on Sunday. At 6-foot-0, 180-pounds, Murphy has shown present bat speed and the ability to drive the ball with authority to his pull-side. Behind the dish, his mid 70s arm and low-2s POP time play well in game. The uncommitted 2026s will look to add strength to his frame to take that next step on both sides of the ball.
Hunter King | 2026 | OF/RHP | Sherwood Park Dukes | Uncommitted
Despite losing 3 of 4 to the Twins, Hunter King had a weekend to remember going 5 for 13 with 2 home runs. One of which was one of the longest home runs we’ve seen so far this year. At 6-foot-2, 175-pounds there’s plenty to like in King’s frame. His athleticism and potential added strength leave plenty to dream on for the uncommitted 2026. He upped his season slashline to .315/.377/.432 and he continued to be one of the top bats for the Dukes. His undeniable upside makes him a player to keep an eye on as he nears the start of his senior season.
Jacob Murphy | 2026 | INF | Webber Wildcats | Uncommitted
Jacob Murphy has quietly been one of the top hitters in the BAEL this year. He had another big weekend for the Wildcats going 5 for 10 with 9 runs and 7 walks. His hit tool has been more evident over his power tool at the moment as he has continuously shown the ability to put the bat on the ball, striking out just 7 times in 87 plate appearances. He primarily works to his pull-side but has shown that he can drive the ball the other way as well. The 5-foot-8, 170-pound uncommitted 2026 has upped his season slashline to .355/.540/.532 and is getting hot at the right time as we near provincials.
Hudson Harding | 2026 | OF | Webber Wildcats | Uncommitted
One of the more impactful and exciting bats in the BAEL was at it again this past weekend against the Bucks. He went 7 for 12 with a double, 2 triples, and 9 RBIs. He started off the weekend with 2 triples in his first 2 at bats and stayed hot from there. One of the most impressive parts about Harding's game is his intent and ability to do damage at the plate, while impressively limiting strikeouts, collecting just 1 in 92 plate appearances in the BAEL this year. His barrel control stands out as well, driving the ball with authority to all fields. The 6-foot-0, 175-pound outfielder has an 85 mph arm from the OF and will be one of the more exciting uncommitted 2026s to watch in provincials and beyond.
