BAEL Players of the Week: May 16-17 & 23-24

Brayer Siemens | 2026 | OF/RHP | Calgary Cubs | Uncommitted

You’d be hard-pressed to find a player that has had as big an impact on both sides of the ball as Brayer Siemens. The uncommitted senior has slashed .409/.500/.727 over the last 2 weeks, with 5 doubles, 6 RBIs, 11 runs, and 4 stolen bases. On the mound he has been just as good; striking out 14 over 8.2 innings, and surrendering just 5 hits and just 2 earned runs. He has run the fastball up to 86, and sits in the 82-84 range. There’s present strength in his 6-foot-2, 185-pound frame, and plenty of athleticism to go with it. He runs a 6.75 and has an 88 mph arm from the OF. With an abundance of untapped upside, Siemens is a two-way school’s should be on right now.

AJ Weimer | 2026 | C/SS | Calgary Cubs | Prairie Baseball Academy

Weimer, who was a member of the All-BAEL team last year, hasn’t skipped a beat to start his senior year. The PBA commit has slashed an incredible .640/.710/.800 the last two weeks. This includes 2 doubles, a triple, 10 RBIs, 11 runs, and 3 stolen bases. It’s more contact over power at the moment, and he has a strong feel for the barrel, using the entire field well. Defensively, he’s a standout at both catcher and shortstop (SS). Made a couple strong plays up the middle at SS and controls the running game well behind the dish with a 1.98 POP and 75 mph arm. The 6-foot-1, 170-pound Cubs product doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon and should continue to be one of the top bats in the BAEL.

Riley Dusterhoft | 2027 | OF/RHP | St. Albert Cardinals | Uncommitted

After a strong 2025 season in the BAEL, Dusterhoft was named to Team Alberta for the Western Canada Prospect Series. So far in 2026, the 5-foot-11, 160-pound two-way has only gotten better. In the last two weeks he has slashed .478/.500/.565 and has shown advanced bat-to-ball, having not struck out a single time so far this year. He uses the entire field well, and although there isn’t much impact in the bat yet, that will come as he continues to fill out and add strength. He’s also a reliable strike thrower on the mound, having logged the most innings for the Cardinals in the last 2 weeks. As one of the better 2027s in the BAEL, Dusterhoft will be one to follow going forward.

Braeden Bohach-Murray | 2026 | INF/RHP | Calgary Bucks | McCook CC

The McCook CC commit has been one of the main pieces this year in a deep Bucks lineup. With 5 doubles in his last 15 ABs, it’s clear the bat has the ability to be impactful at any moment. That’s on top of an already impressive .467/.556/.800 slashline over the last two weeks. The contributions don’t stop there. As a member of the All-BAEL team last year as a pitcher, Bohach-Murray has continued to be a reliable arm on the mound having struck out 7 over his last 5 innings, and walking just 2, in that same time span. If the 5-foot-10, 200-pound two-way can continue to be impactful on both sides of the ball, the Bucks will be a team to look for.
